"Please avoid sending me Word, Powerpoint or Windows Media attachments."

I cannot avoid such incoming materials as a magazine editor, but I usually ask 
for plain text only files and separate graphics.  My normal routine is to save 
everything as Text only and this is my crap removal quarantine method.   The 
layout person is happy, and we to the printer without hidden gremlins.  That 
much I learned years ago standing next to the printing machine with the 
operator scanning pages for any errors. One such was found that had gone 
through the entire process from input without being visible. Thousands of 
dollars were about to be wasted because of a Word issue.
