From my HR Manager:

If the Company is in liquidation then the
employee becomes a creditor, if it just
shut its doors then possibly the Dept of
Workplace Relations to ensure that the
termination was legal.

Also was there ever anything re.
termination/redundancy put in an Employee
Manual or offer of employment letter?
