Members and Friends of Austin Mennonite Church I pray you are well and filled with encouragement and gratitude for being able to engage in meaningful and fulfilling relationships. We make our way through
the course of life by processing our various encounters with
adventures and the
discoveries they provide to us. It seems
to be the nature of our physical human presence for us to grow
and develop as
we proceed along the way that opens before us.
And maybe the choices we must make without as much
information we desire
to have are not as important as what we learn along the way. While it is true that we must manage the
consequences of all of our choices, it is even more important
for us to
recognize how these engagements help us to progress toward the
state of
maturity and awareness that also constitutes a reason for why we
are in the
earth. When considering past deviations
that cause us to continue to be plagued with disappointment and
distress,
recognizing that the grace and blessing in the manner that we
forgive others is
also intended to be applied to ourselves.
And although we cannot reshape past incidents we can look
beyond these
and continue to be sensitive to and passionate for the vision
that prevails
inside our spirits. The vision prompts
us to refine our attitudes and behaviors so that we will be able
to more fully
participate in the fulfillment and enrichment that God intends
for the human
family. The scriptures we will consider this next sunday are Ezekiel 37:1-14; John 11:1-45; and Romans 8:6-11. Reflections on the dramas in these passages will compose the sermon, 'The struggle of the soul.' The Announcements follow below and the Worship Schedule for February 2011 is both copied below and attached. May it go well with you.
