Mike,

That was just one possible explanation why/how a presser foot could get bent 
or deformed. The back upper shank of the presser foot shaft can hit a hoop 
edge, if for instance the hoop is not properly secured in the clips and it 
vibrates off center. If the hoop limits have been disabled and the wrong 
size hoop has been selected could be another cause........mechanical 
defects, etc...but just sewing caps can gradually put a slight bend in the 
presser foot shaft that will need for it to be adjusted back to its normal 
position.......just a couple more of my 2 cents worth......  ;-))
