The cap is an Anvil 146 unstructured cap. The material feels like soft, medium
weight denim. The problem area was not near a seam. I started with thickness
set to 5 then went up to 8 and down to 3. The problem was in a fill area and
had as much problem with the underlay (Stitch length 24, density 20) as with
the actual fill stitches. The problem has to have something to do with the hat
and/or the backing. The backing (two layers) is 2 oz (TC2542000) tear away
from Melco.

I just ran it again on a different machine, using the same hat, same backing,
75/11 sharp needle, same spool of thread, MT 4, speed 800, on a different Amaya
with the Fastframe hat frame (did back rather than front of cap). Guess what?
No problems! Go figure! Maybe it just knew that I had to get the job out on
short deadline.

Thanks for the suggestions.
