Hi Richard,Just saw the timing on my call for entries & rules for the exchange. Didn't mean it in response to this message.
I for one would love to have one of your prints as part of a collection.Maybe we can do a digital print exchange in the Fall, but keep this one for darkroom prints.
(I don't have access to a good ink jet until the semester starts again).I've seen some high end B&W inkjet work, and I must admit I was blown away. A friend of mine was custom imprinting some very large prints in his finishing shop (to sell to collectors). He called them posters. The image was a portrait of a native American in head-dress, and it was flawless. Not a stray spec, no artifacts, just pure tone.

I'd be interested too but while I understand Slobodan's desire for "real" prints I'm all digital printing these days. Even if I could access a darkroom and find time to do traditional prints I have to say the results I'm getting for my B&W work with pigment inks on the newst papers like Crane's Silver Rag Or Ilford's Gold Fibre Silk baryta paper has me jumping for joy. In fact many people think they are not a digital ink jet print at all. -- Richard S. Not that it matters all that much, but myfirst thought was to print one that is in the Rollei book.No reason - just the first thing that came to mind. I'm open to any ideas. Maybe that's a bad one, as comparing the image from other formats may be part of the fun. So ok - scrap that rule.By the way Daniel, no trouble about the name. As a printer, I'm accustomed to finding errors post production. If I lost my head each time that happened, I'd be in an asylum by now.E. -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "Daniel Ridings" <dlridings@xxxxxxxxx>I'd like to participate.I'm printing for the LUG print exchange soon and am actually going to print a Rollei picture (for the first time. I've always kept to Leicas in that print exchange but decided to participate in the current roundonly because it was open). The whole point for me was to maintain darkroom momentum.Well if anyone is interested in a swap, I'll organize one. 5x7 FB or RC - any Rollei exposed negative. Enlargement or contact. Original work not yet published. I'll produce an enclosure for it. Mail entry to me with postage, I'll sort & collate and ship back.If I get a complete description of everyone's entry in time, I'll letterpressan introduction sheet. If there is interest, chime in, and let's set a date - or anything else anyonewants to suggest.Elias --- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org- Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list--- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org- Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list--- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org- Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list--- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org- Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list
