I liked you night shots better than mine Mr. Hot Wheels, thanks for the heads up on where they were posted. I learned a little by looking at your shots. My camera was set to a "Vivid" setting on the color saturation at the time I shot the night shots. Turn that off or back down to normal. Mine were over saturated. Red was a problem because of that. The red Honda that started glowing the earliest had a ton of splotchy noise in the paint as it got darker - Yours not as much. Overall a good learning experience for me too. Oh and I also learned that my kit lens, a 18-55 VR lens, really really sucks at late night rotor glowing photography. The other lens, a 70-300 VR did a much better job (which would seem the opposite to me, but I'm goofy sometimes) Ray, I liked the CCW shot much better. I think it is the photographers eye that makes us like it or not. We may not all think the girl next door is beautiful, but I don't know anyone who has ever seen Catharine Deneuve that doesn't think she is beautiful. Some pictures appeal to some of us, and some pictures appeal to all of us. I do like you thoughts on the down-hill braking and up-hill steady speed. I think it is intuitive in some ways. They both look better tilted, to me, than straight up. It was an interesting lesson in night photography. I had a couple that I sort of liked. If I get a chance later today I'll go through and pick out something that I like. Remember that I like strange stuff, so what I pick out most likely will not be liked by anyone else. Regarding pricing Larry is the one who knows the drivers, wives, girl friends, crew members, etc. He picked up right away and identified some of the women in my earlier posting as wives, daughters, etc. Silly old me I just though that they were good looking ladies. Mine all stunk. This was the type of shot that originally had us locking up the sharp objects when we saw Jeromy's shots from 07, I think. I have a few of that nature that I'm pleased with, but I'm wondering if the tilt thing would/could improve 'em. I kept mine mostly level: http://www.chevyasylum.com/racing/racing2009/20090529/200905290003.html although there are a couple that I rotated (whenever I read/write "tilt" I automatically think of a pinball machine and my many hours at one in the Enlisted Mens' club at a particular post in Germany.) My own opinion is that I like the way the rotated shots came out, but I'm not sure how I would have done something like that with a plain vanilla panning shot, especially one that's zoomed in so close. Any input would be appreciated. RtR At 09:20 PM 11/16/2009, you wrote: >Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > >Yeah, it's a good one. Too bad it's Larry's. DRAT! C.
