Thanks for the compliments on the tilt Ducati. It actually won a first prize in the action division at the Utah State Fair this year (with a massive $40 prize). I have blown in up to 30" X 20" and it is framed in my office. Ray, you have a picture in your SBK superbikes that would tilt beautifully (my opinion) it is pic # 20090529 0688r8 of Noriyuki Haga on the #41 Ducati. Tilt it Ray, it will be stunning, if it doesn't cut off some of the bike, do you have an un-cropped copy of that shot or are those the real edges? I've attached another tilted another shot, almost makes me dizzy looking at this one. Just another example of tilt. Miller does not really have a turn like that! I was wishing I was at Laguna Seca at the Cork Screw when I tilted it (I still wish I was at Laguna Seca at the Cork Screw). I actually tilted this shot on the camera and then added more tilt with software. Bonus points if you can tell me which corner this is at Miller. It is a lot of tilt, and I don't think it would work with a car, but give me your opinion, too much tilt or does it work? As to the pricing thing, I think it is what you can get. Paul & Ray usually get a little more than I do, but they put more effort and time into showing their stuff. They spend more time in the pits getting to know the drivers. The thing that they do that impresses me is to price their stuff so as not to offend the driver get repeat customers. Some of the locals are very price sensitive, if you gouge them, that will be their last purchase. Some of the locals have big pockets too, and Ray and Paul get to know that and price accordingly. Ray and Paul also show them prints. Big selling point. I have watched Ray show a print to a customer, and seen their eyes just light up. But Ray is right, we sure don't want to start a undercutting each other. I think we have all agree that about $50 is the ball park for a CD. But, hell if you can get $100, more power. I think if we were running around selling CD's for $10 to undercut, that might tick a few people off. But I don't see that happening. Last year I charged $40 at one event because the organizer was non-too-happy that photogs (me) were making a profit off of his hard work. I spent some time explaining that $40 barely covered the time and effort to provide the pics, and it was a service some of his racers would want, but didn't have to use if they didn't want to. He became ok with it at $40. But that was last year. Anyway there is my two cents worth. Ross Brawn is a wealthy man. What a whirlwind year for him and that team. I hope Mr. Button gets a good gig next year, see what you get for winning the world championship and not being German!!! No ride in German team!! Sometimes I think it is a real shame that patriotism enters into racing like it does, and other times I think it is great. A1GP is all about countries and is really fun (was really fun when it was televised). I thought that Mr. Barrichello was off to Williams??? This was the type of shot that originally had us locking up the sharp objects when we saw Jeromy's shots from 07, I think. I have a few of that nature that I'm pleased with, but I'm wondering if the tilt thing would/could improve 'em. I kept mine mostly level: http://www.chevyasylum.com/racing/racing2009/20090529/200905290003.html although there are a couple that I rotated (whenever I read/write "tilt" I automatically think of a pinball machine and my many hours at one in the Enlisted Mens' club at a particular post in Germany.) My own opinion is that I like the way the rotated shots came out, but I'm not sure how I would have done something like that with a plain vanilla panning shot, especially one that's zoomed in so close. Any input would be appreciated. RtR At 09:20 PM 11/16/2009, you wrote: >Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit > >Yeah, it's a good one. Too bad it's Larry's. DRAT! C.
