Not yet. Gotta get some lighter fluid.

I googled the question and found others asking the question, with the same problem. The answers came from men who obviously knew the camera well, inside and out. One of the men called the camera "crappy anyway, so get another". I disagree. I love the way it meters with that needle on the side, but anyway he then said, "if the fix doesn't work, and you like it, why don't you just use it without the counter?" I've decided to do that, IF I can't fix it. It advances properly, and everything else about it works fine. Of course, I'd rather have the counter working. I am going to try to fix the counter, though, and I'll let you know. Thank y'all so much. I always know I can get good, quick answers here.

On most Nikon cameras there is a small - tab that is pressed in by the closing of the camera back. It is spring loaded so that when you open the back the tab sticks out. When this happens the counter is reset.

Open the back and in god light look in the area where the light seals reside. Sometimes the light seals get gummy with age and prevent the tab from protruding and actuating counter reset. Should be an easy fix.

I have an old Nikon FG that has served me well. When I was at the
beach I came to the end of a roll but the little button on the bottom
wouldn't press in to rewind. I kept trying, and eventually it did.
Now when I open the back, put in new film, and close the back the
counter won't go back to zero. Is there something simple I can do to
fix it? I know there probably aren't parts available to fix it for
less than I might pay to buy a new one. Any advice? Thanks.
