appreciated . I have the money, cannot take it with me so may as well
enjoy it . Will get XP and upgrade when Vista comes out if need be .
Your opinion is a sound one. Thank you again. Lionel.

Windows Longhorn, which is now more officially named Windows Vista, is due
out in 2006. I thought I read rumors online somewhere of the 'true' date
being 2007, but I can't find where I read it. Whether or not to upgrade to
XP and spend the money when the newer version is not that far off is pretty
much a preference call. If the few things you can't install, like Skype or
possibly other apps, are very important to you, then you have no choice but
to go to XP. But, if ME is treating you good right now, I would wait. Why
spend the money if you don't need to, right? The good news is that if you
were to get XP now, there's a good chance that you can buy an upgrade
version of Vista for about a hundred bucks less (if their pricing pattern
stays the same). Also... remember, just because Vista comes out, it doesn't
make XP obsolete. It just (potentially) puts another product ahead of it.
Just as you still have probably millions of people still using 98 and ME,
you'll probably have millions more still using XP when Vista comes out. Not
necessarily a bad thing. And, if you do get XP, you can then wait a bit to
get Vista after it comes out, so that certain bugs will get patched up
before you have it installed. Bugs come with any version, but at launch
you'll probably see many more. Just my opinion.

Hi Sir Troth ....I have Windows ME. IE 5.5. OE . no problems
with it except I cannot install certain things with it like SKYPEE
and one or two other things. Was thinking of getting XP. How soon
will it be before Longhorn or what ever , comes out and superseedes
XP ? , don't want to waste $200 on something that is going out of
date. ?? What do you reconmend. ?? Lionel.
