The first disk sounds like a 'gold' version (no service packs included). Since you're running SP3, SFC is looking specifically for a SP3 install disk. Anything less than that will have lots of older system file versions on it, so it cannot serve as a replacement for any bad files SFC finds. So, is that SP2 install disk a factory version or something you or somoene else made?
