LOL--I would never have thought of extra calcium for the little booger.  I 
will give that a try along with the CHKDSK and let you know if that brings 
anything to light.  I can't think right now what an SFC scan is!  Help me 
out.
Like you, I just can't see any connection or reasonable explanation for 
these odd behaviors unless a virus or trojan is trying to "get in".
So far this morning everything is working normally.
