Richard's post: 4. I also object to paying an additional, mandated cost for a Cable Card feature in an HDTV that I won't use because an external HD-DVR is a much better device. It should be OPTIONAL. The Cable Card feature was not instituted by FCC mandate. As I recall, this was a CEA initiative, and they lobbied aggressively for FCC approval. The quid pro quo for approval was that it also include an ATSC receiver. -----Original Message----- From: opendtv-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:opendtv-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Richard Hollandsworth Sent: Thursday, October 20, 2005 7:32 PM To: opendtv@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [opendtv] Re: White paper from CEA ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can UNSUBSCRIBE from the OpenDTV list in two ways: - Using the UNSUBSCRIBE command in your user configuration settings at FreeLists.org - By sending a message to: opendtv-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
