<<it cannot be retrieved and they're holding back waiting for someone who knows different to reply.>> Yeah...I know. Oh well. This is what I figured. But, thanks so much for your efforts, Dian. You're the best, my friend. Picture this scenario....I'm heading out of town for two weeks, so I make a folder in Outlook to hold all the stuff I want to deal with on my return. I name this folder "Pending"....I then create two subfolders....one named "Urgent" and one name "Whenever"....then last nite in a fatigued fog, I take one last look inside the Urgent folder BEFORE I do my normal pst backup....and I notice there's one email in there that I already took care of. So, I click on that one email and am ready to hit shift+delete, but for some weirdo reason, I then clicked on the Urgent folder in my Folder List....so, now the email is still selected but the FOCUS is on the Urgent folder....so when I hit shift/delete, and of course confirm it (LOL), I'm sitting here watching the little files flying box and realize what I've done....but it's too late Imagine...of all the folders to lose, I lose one called "Urgent"....could things be any worse? Of course they could...it's only email...I will live....and hopefully, the people who sent me the email will understand that I'm human and just reply to my request for them to send it again. Happy holidays gang....I'm shutting down Outlook now and gonna forget about this one. You mice be good while this cat is away, ya here? But it's late...so I'd suggest you leave it open until tomorrow when I might get more hits on my Q. I just checked back and there are NO replies. That generally means that no one knows anything other than the fact that it cannot be retrieved and they're holding back waiting for someone who knows different to reply. So it's not looking good.
