Gee, can't you LOCK that folder so it CAN'T be easily deleted?

another thought, do you use Norton Trash Can/Recycle Bin, you might be
able to restore it from there...
============================

Shift-Delete (as opposed to plain vanilla delete) is expressly designed
within Outlook to immediately delete items.

They do not enter the "deleted" folder.

They do not pass Go.

They do not collect $200.00

They are gone.

It is "handy" but immediately lethal.

Follow up question:
Are other items in Windows similarly deleted by Shift-Delete? That is,
if I use Shift-Delete on a file or folder, does it "bypass" the Recycle
Bin and just head out into oblivion on a non-stop through train?

Follow up suggestion:
The "deleted" folder in Outlook can be set either to "purge" or not,
when closing Outlook. It would be an "ideal" addition to provide a "time
based" purge. That is, every time I shot down Outlook, have the deleted
folder purge all emails older than some specified number of days. That
would let the deleted folder be used as a "just in case" storage place
that constantly emptied itself, but not too soon.
