=20 Re: your follow up question... Yep, Shift-Delete works the same across Windows. The only thing that can 'slow the train', is that using an 'undelete' utility immediately after the accidental delete can recover all or part of the file, but there are a number of factors that determine the success or otherwise of that... ;-) ____________________________________ ,,,,, Neil Atwood - natwood@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx=20 =D4=BF=D4=AC Sydney, Australia=20 Decorate your Christmas with peace http://www.toongabbieanglican.org/christmas =20 =20 -----Original Message----- From: mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:mso-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of James S. They do not pass Go. They do not collect $200.00 They are gone. It is "handy" but immediately lethal. Follow up question: Are other items in Windows similarly deleted by Shift-Delete? That is, if I use Shift-Delete on a file or folder, does it "bypass" the Recycle Bin and just head out into oblivion on a non-stop through train? Follow up suggestion: The "deleted" folder in Outlook can be set either to "purge" or not, when closing Outlook. It would be an "ideal" addition to provide a "time based" purge. That is, every time I shot down Outlook, have the deleted folder purge all emails older than some specified number of days. That would let the deleted folder be used as a "just in case" storage place that constantly emptied itself, but not too soon. James S.
