Hi Bede,
I didnt realise that you were on the other side of the pond.
Personally if you can get it, I would still go for a self cleaning flux to
give the solder it's best chance of getting into the hole. Most of the other
fluxes available over here tend to be very weak kneed owing to our Health
and Safety rules on what chemicals are available. Pretty soon most Solder
fluxes over here are going to be on a list of banned substances.
