[modeleng] Solder Qestion

I have a beat up (literally) old boiler with Comsol (high temp soft
solder) plugging some leaks on the backhead that seem to have been
caused by some genius beating it to force the boiler fowrard, up into
the smokebox...
And there's a steady leak at the joint where the throatplate meets the
barrel, in the lower left quadrant of the joint. My question is, what
are my chances of successfully hard soldering the leak and not melting
off the Comsol? How about if I stood the thing on end with the backhead
in a half inch of water or so? It's a Martin Evans' "Conway", the
outer firebox wrapper is about three inches wide, and I have a big
Sievert burner to attack it with...

I know the boiler needs replacing, but I want to see if I can run it
while making up a new one

Thanks,
Bede
