I have had my Mac book air for over a year now. during this time I have been
fortunate to have a loss of training from another voice over user. today I do
not know what I did but I not my speech off! this has never happened to me
before. I do not know how I fixed it but I did! The moral being that this was
all in my opinion operator error. I would therefore suggest and recommend to
you that you again take care and make your changes. this will not be related to
voice over I am confident of that.

I would try setting it up again and seeing what happens. You have time
before you can still return it if necessary. It could be several things, but
my feeling it is all software. It could be during the indexing of spotlight
or some background process. I’d give it a little time and watch it closely.

Yes, I tried, but nothing happened. When I turned it on again, several
settings were changed. This is my first Apple computer, and I don't know how
to fix this. I'm concerned about getting a computer that doesn't work
properly for any reason.

This sounds like software and not a hardware issue. When VoiceOver cut
out, did you try toggling off and then back on VoiceOver?

I haven't experienced what you are describing, but returning the computer
seems a bit extreme to me. Unless I am missing something here it doesn't
sound like a hardware problem at all.

Hello,

Today, while I was practicing keyboard commands using VO-k, the computer
suddenly stopped speaking. I had to turn it off, and when I turned it on
again, it had lost the settings I changed: for instance, voice over was
not activated, it asked me for a password, voice over spoke rapidly again,
etc.
I'm going to return it to the store because I can't trust a computer that
changes the setting by itself. I bought it last week.
Now, my question is: would be wise to buy another macbook air, or is
better to choose another model? Are all mac computers equally good, or
some are better than others?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Rena
