I called Apple before having this problem and they walked me through setting up
the computer, but 2 days later everything was lost. It's impossible that I
could change the settings while practicing with the keyboard because it was in
training mode. Some years ago something similar happened with a Windows
computer. I don't want to run the risk, so I will change it.

Actually if you call apple accessibility you might have better luck. They
can walk you through setting up your mac, as they kow voice over well, or they
should anyway.

some background process. I’d give it a little time and watch it closely.

This sounds like software and not a hardware issue. When VoiceOver cut
out, did you try toggling off and then back on VoiceOver?

I haven't experienced what you are describing, but returning the
computer seems a bit extreme to me. Unless I am missing something here it
doesn't sound like a hardware problem at all.

Hello,

Today, while I was practicing keyboard commands using VO-k, the
computer suddenly stopped speaking. I had to turn it off, and when I turned it
on again, it had lost the settings I changed: for instance, voice over was not
activated, it asked me for a password, voice over spoke rapidly again, etc.

I'm going to return it to the store because I can't trust a computer
that changes the setting by itself. I bought it last week.

Now, my question is: would be wise to buy another macbook air, or is
better to choose another model? Are all mac computers equally good, or some are
better than others?

Thanks for any suggestions,

Rena
