If you did not set up the password you will have to do this in initial set up.
If you forgot your password you will have to reinstall the os. I did this about
an hour after I had my system and managed to get around with my limited
knowledge of voice over at the time. You will learn the mac. If I can do it in
10 minutes, you can do it in like 5.

Take care.I have training material at http://tffppodcast.com/premium
<http://tffppodcast.com/premium> if you want to check it out. I need to update
it but 95 percent of the material is accurate. I'll be working on a new set of
guides once i finish my book on El Capitan.

I don’t think the computer is the problem but this is operator error which is
understandable being you’re new to the platform and something we all work
through when learning something new.

Be patient and be deliberate in what you try and of course ask questions and
we’ll do our best to be as helpful as possible.

Stick with it, you’ll get more confident over time.

Yes, I tried, but nothing happened. When I turned it on again, several
settings were changed. This is my first Apple computer, and I don't know how
to fix this. I'm concerned about getting a computer that doesn't work
properly for any reason.

This sounds like software and not a hardware issue. When VoiceOver cut
out, did you try toggling off and then back on VoiceOver?

I haven't experienced what you are describing, but returning the computer
seems a bit extreme to me. Unless I am missing something here it doesn't
sound like a hardware problem at all.

Hello,

Today, while I was practicing keyboard commands using VO-k, the computer
suddenly stopped speaking. I had to turn it off, and when I turned it on
again, it had lost the settings I changed: for instance, voice over was
not activated, it asked me for a password, voice over spoke rapidly again,
etc.
I'm going to return it to the store because I can't trust a computer that
changes the setting by itself. I bought it last week.
Now, my question is: would be wise to buy another macbook air, or is
better to choose another model? Are all mac computers equally good, or
some are better than others?
Thanks for any suggestions,
Rena
