It's the render to WMV of FS Recorder that's new not the program itself.
Previously it may have been used in conjuncion with Fraps to produce video
footage, the new functionality means Fraps, which is payware, becomes
unnecessary.

I'm surprised that JHB pilots have only just discovered FSRecorder. I have
known about it for years, and Cix VFR use it for practicing formation
flying. You record yourself, then play it back in AI mode and follow
yourself!!
