With the highway miles and weight I run in my truck I don't but then the comparison is moot anyway since a fix for a pinhole in a good tire compared to using software to fix a physically dying drive instead of replacement is way off. Now comparing that to coating a tire with silicone to recover lost tread instead of buying a new tire is a closer comparison since the dyding HD is worn out and spinrite is going to attempt to temp fix it without addressing the mechanical wear and while it might work for a while the owner will still end up buying a new tire, or HD, whichver the case may be. -----Original Message----- From: computertalkshop-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:computertalkshop-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Cuffy10@xxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, June 10, 2004 11:49 AM To: computertalkshop@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [CTS] Re: Spinrite In a message dated 6/10/04 9:28:27 AM Pacific Daylight Time, rhb57@xxxxxxxxxx writes: Joe I wholeheartedly have to agree and despite the fact that I regularly replace drives and make a profit I am not making a profit from my viewpoinjt to this person - I just think it's dumb to try to fix something with software when the hardware is going to eventual crap.
