I think it's kinda human nature to think the way you do things is best. And well it may be for YOU. It gets dangerous when you start to think your way is the only way or even the best way for OTHERS. Not that I think anyone in the list is guilty of that kind of thinking. But there are those in the world who seem to think we've discovered the best way to do everything and it happens to be the way they do it.

I try to be open minded but am not always. For instance, I always thought there was one and only one way to open a banana. My wife happens to open it from the opposite end. I sorta made fun of her. Guess what? Her peeled bananas have a lot less damage than the mine :) Well, now I open them the way she does.

She thinks it funny that a guy who eats imported bananas would think he's more of an expert than someone who grew up with bananas growing in her yard :)

The old 'frog in the well' thingie.

Jason,
I really have to agree with your statement,
"The smart guy is the one who alternates based on the
task and tools at hand." To me, whatever works is the
way to go. It just seems strange to me that so many
people would be down on a tool specifically designed
for a modern computer. Whereas the keyboard is a
holdover from a 19th century mechanical invention that
later was changed from alphabetical to qwerty just to
make it more difficult to use to slow down operators
from typeing too fast for the technology of the times.
