I don't think Jeff was trying to hammer anyone. He is just showing Melco's
side of the story and I couldn't agree with him more.
I had my hooptech on my EMT the other day and had the clamp up and tried to
change needles. The clamp caught on a presser foot and put my color index
off. No big deal, I adjusted the screw and went on. When I went to trace
the design I had the needle down (you can push the needle down for tracing
on a EMT as it doesn't have a laser for guidance) and the machine went to
set home instead of tracing. Bent my needle bar and broke the needle. I
got lucky it only did that damage. I guess my point is be very careful when
using the clamping systems.
