That's certainly true Adrian, re. why update the Sonusradio if no one is buying
it. Did you see Tristram's suggestion though? He pointed out that Pure execs
would have done better to adopt the strategy of implementing voice aided radio
operation for car drivers, thus increasing the marketability of the facility
and getting back the cost of implementing it.

So, is the campaigning arm of RNIB - and they are so keen to tell us they're a
campaigning org now! - suggesting this to Pure? I hope so.

It is but my understanding is that until it is more vommercially
successful they are not keen to commit resources to updating the product
EG recording new voice tags. That was the message last november anyway.
Bit of a chicken and egg obviously in as far as if it isn't updated why
would people buy it...

Just to come in on this briefly, I think the Sonus radio maybe USB
updatable, so its possible that Pure could provide updates of new voice
samples for the newer stations. Steve or someone might tell us.

: so what about the ones it doesn't know? I'm guessing that, being voice
: samples, it must have been recorded in advance before the machine was
: manufactured. But it must have to spell out the names of the newer
radio
: stations recently added, like Chill or Virgin Radio Extreme, for
instance?
