Hi,

The router firewall will be doing the same job as Sygate yes.

A firewall is like saying "you bad guy can't come any further, because
you are not one of the guests on the approved list". This is mainly
connections coming into your network. If you download a file, the
transfer is initiated by your machine, so it goes past firewalls you
have in place, which is why you need antivirus protection, so that if a
bad program is downloaded from the Internet, the virus scanner stops it
from causing damage.

Andrew.

Hi George.

Please forgive my ignoranceGeorge, but is a firewall not the same thing
as
Anti-Virus? I've uninstalled Sygate because I thought that the router
was
doing the same job as Sygate was.

Best wishes.
Andy
