That is correct.

The router couldn't scan your hard drive, so no the router is doing what
it does best - routing packets and blocking where appropriate.

So my Belkin Router has a firewall on-board and both computers require
an
Anti-Virus.  Pauline has AVG and I currently have Norton.  So this is a
suitable method of protection for us eh?  Is it not possible to get the
Router fitted with everything we need, to save individual protection?
