I wish I had had this list when I was initially training Met! The information shared through Sheila and Grethches experience has been absolutely wonderful information. Since I work Met on my right and send him through 99% of doors first unless they are wide electronic sliding doors where we can just go as a team, it never dawned on me how it might be easy to injure a dog going through doors with them on the left. I also love the nature of the soft dog. I think for Met's successor I would still like a dog on the *soft* side but maybe one a little bit more confident from the start; however, I would not want one of those dogs that thinks they know it all and no matter what you do they think they are boss! NOPE! Not that kind of teamwork Smile That said, my issues definitely do affect Met. Its taken me losing much more vision for our dog issues to diminish since Met was attacked- gee wonder why LOL If hot blacktop is an issue though could Gretch wear boots perhaps? Just a thought. I use them for Met when its hot. If its hot to the hands touch then imagine standing on that if you need to stand still for any length of time. When IAADP benefits included the discount with Ruffwear, I was able to get Met those good boots that are more like real shoes. I don't use them all the time but when they are needed, it is nice to have them Karyn and Met
