Kitty, Gretch has been fine with this intersection ever since her original period of being uncomfortable with serious guide work in general when I brought her home in March of 2006. until last Thursday. As I mentioned before, the combination of heat and wind which I know could have been the catalyst on another meltdown day over a year ago now, and repercussions from the recent truck incident in my driveway may have somehow combined in Gretch's mind to cause her to behave as she did. It has also been suggested that as a result she simply decided to see if she could get away with being disobedient because she didn't want to guide me across those streets at those particular times last Thursday which is another possibility, as the mild correction I administered did in fact get her to move forward, although doing so unsafely by bowing with all her little frightened reticent heart. How does she do at the intersection when it is not windy or the combination of windy and hot? I also wonder if perhaps something had happened at the intersection ie, perhaps there had been an earlier accident and they still had some safety cones in the intersection, could they have been redoing the crosswalk lines? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sheila Styron" <sheilastyron@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <vi-clicker-trainers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Saturday, August 25, 2007 8:11 AM Subject: (VICT) Re: Serious issue with Gretch Because of Gretch's much more reasonable behavior everywhere since the morning and evening encounters with the scary intersection at Warnall and Gregory on Thursday, I don't believe her issues are health related, but I will still have her thoroughly checked out by my vet soon. Isn't Warnall an ugly name? It is always a good idea to clear health if you get a behavior change.
