The T20 is just a wyse box with the compaq name on it. It isn't about current funds Paul. How much is your time worth Paul? How much time do you have to mess with software that is subpar in the first place? The other word to remember is Amortization. How much will this product be worth in 3 years and over 3 years? Wyse changes and discontinues their products as often as I used to change my babies diapers. Every time you send a unit back to them it comes back with a different bios rev that you have to figure out where the heck everything is again in it just to configure the thing. If your techs have to take the time to learn and support 20 different revs of bios in your terminals it gets pretty outrageous. The Altiris management piece can be used to manage almost EVERY workstation and device (pocket pc's even) on your network. Put the client on a server and you have a remote way of managing your servers desktop from your desk. Push the client out to any workstation and instantly manage and shadow any PC on your network. That isn't worth a little extra money to you? Forward thinking companies are designing boxes that will allow for expansion and extended capabilities. Wyses mentality has always been ...here it is...it will be obsolete in a year so you'll have to buy more from us then. What you don't like that?...phhtt tough...we are the biggest, that makes us the best. I've saved hundreds of travel hours alone using Altiris to manage our PC's at remote locations. I barely have to leave my desk anymore. Take another look at the product. JK -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 We do use Compaq T20 here and we do use Rapport also... Now do I like them... No! I am a big fan of Compaq but hate Wise. I have run the neoware box and really love it. I used it about two years ago and they have only gotten better. They have a really nice Linux box with the ica client on it. The management piece is great! I have priced out the netX box and can not justify spending 800+ on a thin client! I don't care how good the management piece is. Sorry if I am making enemies but I was not impressed with NetX. If I had unlimited funds then I would buy a NetX... But I don't.
