Send interesting sightings- complete with species name, the LOCATION, and contact information- to Kenny Anderson at kennya290@xxxxxxxxx -Rarities Found This Week- The third Austin male Cerulean Warbler, this Spring, was seen by several observers at Nicholas Dawson Park in South Austin on 4/18 (Travis County). Three Zone-tailed Hawks were at, Travis County jewel, Westcave Preserve on 4/14. A Worm-eating Warbler was reported from Northeast District Park on 4/16 in Travis County. A Green-tailed Towhee was observed at a private residence in Guadalupe County on 4/12,13. Cassin's Sparrows were photographed at Hornsby Bend (4/13) and the West Bouldin Greenbelt (4/17) both in Travis County. 2 Lazuli Buntings were a nice find by the City Flickers Birdathon team on 4/14. Birds were seen at St. Edward's Park in Travis County. An American Bittern was at Laguna Gloria in Austin on 4/14. A Red-headed Woodpecker continues at Berry Springs Park in Williamson County on 4/17. Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centered from the Capitol in downtown Austin. Bird sightings mentioned here have been filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
