No reports, either positive or negative, since the 9/3 evening sighting. -Rarities Found This Week- A male Cerulean Warbler found at Hornsby Bend on 9/8 was nicely documented with photographs. The bird was relocated in the afternoon; this could be a first record for the well-birded property. A Calliope Hummingbird was visiting a Bastrop County home's feeder as of 9/9. A Swallow-tailed Kite was a fly-over northwest of Bastrop off 969 on 9/8 in Bastrop County. A Reddish Egret on Lake Belton's south shore on 9/6 was a nice find, and it was relocated on 9/7 where Cowhouse Creek widens to become Lake Belton. Bell County A Blue-winged Warbler was reported from Max Starke Park in Seguin in Guadalupe County on 9/13. A male Golden-winged Warbler was along the Lower Colorado River below the Longhorn Dam on 9/9 Travis Yellow-throated Warbler, a breeder at the location, lingers at Nalle Bunny Run Preserve ( A Hill Country Conservancy) 9/13 Travis County Prairie Warbler has been at a Gonzales County home from 9/8-13. -Continuing Birds From Previous Week- Couch's Kingbirds are reliable at Roy Guerrero Park in Austin, last report had two vocal birds 9/9. Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centeredfrom the Capitol in downtown Austin. The circle extends north to Belton (Bell County), south to Leesville (Gonzales County), east to SomervilleWMA (Lee Burleson County), and west to Blumenthal (Gillespie County).Birdsightings mentioned here have been filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be genuine.
