An update to the Texas Ornithological "Handbook of Texas Birds" is underway, 
this exciting news comes with a desire for real "meat" input from folks 
ground-truthing  species distribution within the state.  Take them up on 
personal observations, changes, onomales, photos, and insights.   A great book 
even better, you can be  the change!
 
Exceptional Sighting
 
While outside of the 60 mile radius that defines this alert; I am so excited by 
the fantstic find of Black-tailed Godwit- that I would elbow anyone not 
familiar with the unbelievable amazing bird at Brazoria NWR.  Great find!
 
 -Rarities Found This Week- 
 
A Red-headed Woodpecker was "on" Cottletown Road in Bastrop County on 6/7.
 
A White-breasted Nuthatch was at Big Webberville Park 6/4,5,6 in eastern Travis 
County.
 
An Osprey was observed along the Colorado River adjacent to Hornsby Bend on 6/6 
in Travis County.
 
-Continuing Birds From Previous Week-
 
A Black-crowned Night-Heron is along the Colorado River in the DowntownAustin 
area, turning up at the Longhorn Dam on 6/7.
 
A Gray Catbird was at Warbler Woods on 6/2.
 
Hutton's Vireo continues at Warbler Woods 6/1,2,3 


Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centeredfrom the 
Capitol in downtown Austin. The circle extends north to Belton (Bell County), 
south to Leesville (Gonzales County), east to SomervilleWMA (Lee Burleson 
County), and west to Blumenthal (Gillespie County).Birdsightings mentioned here 
have been filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are believed to be 
genuine. When documentation or photographs were provide, that is mentioned 
along with the other information about the bird(s) being seen.
