-Rarities Found This Week-

A Blackpoll Warbler returned to the section of the Lower Colorado River
below Longhorn Dam in Austin on 9/15.  The bird was seen between the two
creek terminus, immediately next to the river.  Last year the bird did
linger, so updates are welcomed. (Travis)

A Bay-breasted Warbler, a rare fall migrant in Central Texas, was seen in
the Old Bastrop neighborhood on 9/20. (Bastrop)

A Worm-eating Warbler was at the Lake Creek Trail in Williamson County on
9/17.

An interesting photograph of a Solitary Vireo on the Lake Creek Trail in
Williamson County on 9/17 was on the Texbirds Facebook page.  The gray-day,
low-light photograph was suggestive of Plumbeous/Cassin's.

Scarlet Tanagers, unusual in the southward movement, a male at The Colony
Subdivision in Austin 918, and a report of a female at Hornsby Bend on 9/02.

Hooded Warblers were at: a male at West Bouldin Greenbelt 9/14-17 (photo)
and a female below the Zilker Nature Preserve- along the river upstream
from the Rowing Dock on9/17. Travis

A Cassin's Sparrow was nicely documented with a photo at Roy Guerrero Park
in Austin 9/12. (Travis)

A Chestnut-sided Warbler was noted at a private enterprise in Bastrop
County on 9/20.

Magnolia Warblers were noted at Roy Guerrero Park in Austin on 9/15 and
photographed at Warbler Woods 9/21.

A Long-billed Curlew was beside Sayersville Road in Bastrop on 9/20.

Red-breasted Nuthatches were reported (2) from Big Webberville Park on
9/18, 21 and at a feeder at residence in Austin on 9/21

Reports for the Austin area RBA cover a 60 mile radius, centeredfrom the
Capitol in downtown Austin. The circle extends north to Belton (Bell
County), south to Leesville (Gonzales County), east to SomervilleWMA (Lee
Burleson County), and west to Blumenthal (Gillespie County).Birdsightings
mentioned here have been filtered and scrutinized by the compiler and are
believed to be genuine. When documentation or photographs were provide,
that is mentioned along with the other information about the bird(s) being
