If you cannot see the burnt carbon trace then--time is the test.  Just for
verification--I am not talking about the crt socket.  I am talking about the
little white plastic device that slides over the crt pins ON the crt
itself--nothing to do with the crt module.  The pin guide.  I think its
intention is to keep the pins from getting bent at the base and cracking the
glass.  I use an exacto to cut into the existing silicone, then 2 small flat
blades to pry it off very carefully/slowly.  It'll come--dont force it.
Clean it with the same small flat blade--both crt and guide. Then resilicone
like I said in the previous post
