I took good forum advice and took the tower to my friend who has a PC
repair business. He ran several troubleshooter programs and determined
the HDD was bad.We installed the new HDD, loaded "ME" (migraine enabler)
and that was that.I donated the system to our cousin and his wife.A
sweet young married couple with two kids who are really trying hard to
work and do right. He was very excited when he picked it up today. It's
not always about the money,I have realised over the years.Felt good to
see young eyes bug out at a cool 667 MHz system with CDRW. (his old one
was 90 MHz).
I run XP Pro at home on a 1.8 GHz P4 and that is THE best ever. My wife
and me have two identities on the desk top and each set of settings are
preserved.Like having two seperate PC's. I want XP Pro on all my PCs
now.
Wife says now to look at the Sunday ads for a laptop for her college
courses (age 41,mid life career change).
I sweat at the thought...
Lets see, one laptop...That's two-hundred TV repairs...
