Not a expert but I will comment anyway! First you need to determine if the
hard drive is OK or not. If it is, ME is corrupt. Run a program like
Scandisk. If all is OK, you need to load an operating system. Had similar
problem on a Gateway computer that came with ME installed. It got corrupted
when something went wrong during a Micrsoft Update. Restore no longer
worked. The CD that came with the computer was not capable of a complete
reinstall. Rather than spend $100 for a ME CD, which my wife didnt like
anyway, I bought a new, unregistered, XP (Home Edition) on eBay for $75 and
installed that. Works great.
