Mike, now just how to you think I can do that when the pedigrees
and information was given to me in private. If these breeders
and owners want to give the information out that is their right
not mine. You want my dogs pedigree of GSD's that was lost
to Hemangiosarcoma or DM I will give them to you privately
due to the past GSD's involved. The GSD going on 10 I own now has issues
with EPI due to allergies, his sire was lost to cancer at 9 1/2 and his
dam DM and was in the GSDCA 13 Club . The dam was tested for everything out
there any dog
could acquire not just GSD related and passed all except the Flash test later
so yes I got my dog from
a reputable breeder. She was not a young bitch when bred and when a marker was
discovered
for DM she was never bred again but spayed. She had one litter of pups before
spayed and her
daughter tests clean for everything. So my GSD has issues from his sire not
dam since his problems
lie with the sire's line. If he later gets DM it can be coming from both lines
since it is there too.

Theresa, I still can't believe you maintain this position with out any
support or evidence. Just anecdotal information from un-named experts or
sources. If you have information we can learn from please provide it,
trust me we are very capable of sifting through detailed information
particularly when it pertains to the health and longevity to the breed.
The affects of selection over the years have removed many of the
malady's that affected the GSD since its' importation in the US. For
instance, we(the American GSD Breeders) have eliminated VWD(bleeders)
from the gene pool here using selection, yet it remains in germany and
in those imported. We the US, have improved hip/elbow conformation
dramatically by using tools to again breed selectively. Yet the
Europeans have lagged in this area. The Europeans also Cull many litter
members(that you never hear about), which again makes breeding decisions
difficult unless you excellent sources to get you "All" the information
forming a complete picture of perspective suitors or dams.
There are many issues affecting CANINES(all breeds) that you may never
be able to eradicate, without loosing attributes that make up or
differentiate breed(or any for that matter) from another.
Careful breeding and selection based on solid sound information will
continue to be the best method until the tools arrive in the future to
make more educated decisions. In the mean time as Chief Dan George said,
"We will endeavor to persevere"

I never stated Axel was bad I thought he was a nice dog but the
inbreeding-linebreeding off of the GSD's I listed causes weaknesses to
produce problems.
