I happen to agree with Jamie... BUT...
How does one explain the dogs being shown today compared to the Illustrated
Standard?
Especially to a new person. I was talking with a gal last weekend that is a
licensed judge. She is starting to add Herding breeds, and the subject of
the GSD came up.
I find it difficult to jibe the dogs in the ring with the picture shown in
the Illustrated Standard

Answer? if the dogs in the ring don't match the standard, then logic would
dictate that's where to start changing things. We don't change the standard
to match what's in the ring.
