I have a question for the Lister's. When you are considering judges to
show under at an all breed show, do any of you do a history check and see
what dog he or she started out in? If you do why? If a judge started out in
Collies what would that tell me?

When I started out and did not know the judge I use to try to find out what
their own breed was. If it was a head breed then that was important to
know. etc. you better take good heads to him .

Now with specialty judges I like to know not so much what they are showing
at the time but what faults they have in their own kennel and looking to
correct. I think if you have a fault you want to correct that is the first
thing you notice when you are judging. If you have short flat croups that is
sure going to jump out at you when in the ring.
