Jeff,
I don't know about your area, but on the west coast, nearly every specialty has
pretty good entries in the younger classes and we get to see progeny from the
regional bloodlines all year. And many times, more than one puppy from a
particular
breeding is shown.
Not everyone can attend every national to see the winners compete and see
bloodlines
from outside of their region.
And what about the people you can meet? Over the years, I would not have met
some
of my dearest friends in the breed, had they not traveled from far & wide to
attend
futurities in my "local" areas.

That is the only reason I could come up with too and I certainly understand
that
one, getting stuck with a judge that may not be best for your dog.? However,
this is
not a regular dog show for points, and if we are trying to make our Futurities
popular again, more user-friendly and "just a match" or breeder's showcase,
then we
need to return to it's roots.?? Again, Futurities are "Regional Breeder's
Showcases".?? Don't you think there could be an attraction by smaller local
breeders
and newbies to this if it were returned?to this format?????
