The Constant Contact service that the Parent Club is using has a Survey
component -- it would be really easy to get at least 2500 of the members to
answer a quick survey like you suggest Christine.
A really good idea - Market Research can often give a clear picture of what
your "customers" are thinking -- that is of course, assuming that the
questions are written in such a manner as to illicit a true response, and
not a "canned" response such as other surveys I've seen in the past.

Take an informal poll and find out why there are so many absentees.What
happened to all those puppies/ litters that were nominated and didn't show
up? did they exhibit in the maturity the following year? If you find out
that absenteeism is from car problems, shedding, being in season, pano, or
the like then being able to enter two futurities would be beneficial. If
you find out that it is due to young dogs not making the ofa grade, another
health issue, or just not turning out, then no amount of multiple entering
will change that nor will it increase actual entries, only revenue. Also
keep in mind we tried to add vitality last year by the amateur
futurity...did it do the trick? who were the primary exhibitors..new or
established breeders? Were all the complainers there who stated that
handlers only win entered..did they exhibit? How much added revenue did it
generate? I couldn't care less what the fut. committee does, each new
system implemented can be used to an advantage, just like the Amateur
fut.or the reserve system. In my humble opinion anytime you embark on
changing you need to know why you are doing so, and what are you hoping to
gain, and will the change foster the desired result. Change for change sake
isn't always the answer. entering two futs. is not a big deal to me, I see
it on one hand as being very advantageous, I also see the potential "what
ifs" just as I saw with the Amateur event. Also can someone who has been in
the breed longer than me answer why the system worked for decades, but now
it isn't working..and why isn't it working? it can't be about handlers or
the Amateur event would have been much larger..so what is the REAL
