Because I was responding to only one part of Barbara's interesting questions post, I'll just reply to the posts that addressed that. Although I loved some of the discussion...move forward or stay static...it's always there when changes are suggested. I agree that an enormous amount of money goes into the campaign, training and handling of a GV/GVx. My suggestion didn't go to the heights of what a Westminster BIS would accomplish. But having the GSDCA take, with the owners' permission, a few shots of the Winner, both in the show and at home, or at rest, whatever, and post it prominently on the Website? Or use it on any magazine ad that they get for the upcoming National? Or ask that the owners attend at least ??? ±3 ??? community events, or All Breed shows with some attending publicity? Not a full top of the line campaign, but give back something to the club from which they received the reward? And that isn't to say they don't now, so no flaming please. Because of my life at the time, I had that chance and didn't take it with my Mex 2X GVx, Pepper (and 1X 2nd Select LOL), I should have taken it and done something with it. I didn't, but upon introspection and as involved as I have been with anti-dog legislation AND the awareness of the JQPublic's drastic need for education, I wish I had it to do over again.
