Many of us, myself included, have had to undergo investigations for jobs
we've held in the past, either as civilians or as military personnel.
I'm familiar with background checks and the like. When I held a
civilian position with the US Navy, I held a Top Secret clearance that
is renewed every so often. For positions with the CIA or for any
Government Agency's Office of Inspector General (did that, too), the
background and financial checks include spouses, even former spouses.
I didn't think anyone was suggesting anything or casting aspersions
anywhere...I just don't think this kind of thing is necessary in a dog
club. Voting shouldn't be a popularity contest, but neither should it
be a life or death matter. Hopefully there is now a system in place to
prevent embezzlement of club funds, etc., and that ought to be enough.
If not, well, some things take a lot of lessons to be learned.
