When I came on the Board there was a written suggestion that members who
handle club money should be bondable. I had to prove bondable. I've never
heard anything else about this rule.
There was an Officers and Directors Insurance policy as the directors are
responsible for lawsuit awards over the club insured limits. I should think
that the Officers would want people who handle club money to be bondable. I
suppose the insurance people could require money handlers to be bonded as
are Bill and I. Background checks for others is ridiculous until they are
asked to handle club funds.
