I am becoming worked up here. The RGS is a pack of shit when it comes to working with the history of this. They have their version. They just want MONEY. Beyond that, they are dishonest and disingenuous. I have dealt with them directly. Do so yourself. Trust not a word they say. They want MONEY. Discussing history with them results in a request for how large your grant is. This a horrid organization which is simply mercenary in its nature. Younghusband is undoubtedly spinning in his grave in disgust.

I do not give a damn for the BBC or for the RGS. Why do you continue to refuse to read the recorded history? WRITTEN accounts matter. TV shows -- well, you might regard DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES as having some historic content but I do not. We are still waiting for a real TV show of historic content. I listen to Big Band on the radio. It is a lot more accurate than anything on TV.

READ the record and converse with the scholars and quit this twitting about BBC specials and RGS web shows. Do the basic work I have done. Read the books and contemplate them. Think about them for a year, and then let us talk. In the meantime, you sound like an ill-advised person on a mission. We have a rude phrase in the US for that sort of a person, and you are better than that. I would suggest that you let me send you the bibliography I have to date, and then read all of these works and then tell me that what I have said is in error. Er, no ... I have been studying this a long time. I doubt that you want to devote the energy I have devoted to the Everest Expeditions, but I would urge you to do so and then we can talk. I am slowly working up to writing an official history of these

I am sorry, Carlos. We have argued over your worship of Nippon Kogagku and so forth. I was correct there but you adamantly refused to acknowledge the historic record. And now you are doing the same on Everest. Go read for yourself.. Carlos, you are a wonderful person on this list. But learn the historical record of things that happened.

As it stands, Carlos swore there was an official Rollei taken high in '53. I proved that it was a private Rolleiflex. Carlos will win this exchange. Why?

Marc
