Wait, you set the service to manual and it's still started up automatically?
Chec in msconfig, make sure it's not there; and see if there's any other
service that is starting them; if they're set to manual they shouldn't start
till reason starts them, unless something else is starting them.

DJX, I have the code meter service set to manual in administrator services,
and I just booted up the XP computer, then looked at Task Manager, without
starting Reason, and both code meter.exe and code meter cc.exe were shown in
processes.
I stopped them both and exited task manager, then reopened task manager to
be sure they didn't re appear, and they were still not there.
I then opened Reason, played with Doctor Rex a few seconds, then exited, and
in task manager code meter.exte was showing, but not code meter cc.exe.
Also, code meter.exe was only using less than 2,000k, while code meter.exe
and code meter cc.exe usually show over 4000k each being used.
I waited several minutes and code meter.exe still showed in task manager,
but CPU usage had crept up to about 2,400k, isn't that strange?
When I shut down the computer I heard one of those Wineyes ghost text
saying:
Event Viewer, Runtime Code meter.exe, and I can't guess what that means,
unless it's from whatever runtime it is that starts code meter.exe.
So, obviously Reason is starting code meter, and obviously, Reason isn't
stopping it after Reason is exited.
I don't know yet if that's a bad thing, but if I can get Windows XP 32 clean
installed over Windows 7 64 bit on my new computer, I won't put Reason on a
drive with anything else, except Reaper, N V D A and WindowEyes.
I'm not believing Code meter is malicious yet, just want to make sure it
isn't.
