I'll do a few more experiments, like stop Reason's Code Meter service in Administrator services, then learn if it appears again in Task Manager Processes It would also be interesting to compare CPU load to learn if it's running in system 32, even if it's zapped in Task Manager I don't think it's quite as bad as the Medusa, with a hundred heads, as soon as you chop one off a dozen more grow in its place.

Looking at it from a normal user's point of view and the standards set forth by microsoft, no there is no way to remove it, meaning there's no entry in the add/remove programs (programs and features) controll panel, there's no uninstall item in the programs group for the program (I don't even think it creates a program group of its own), and neither do I remember seeing an "uninstall.exe" file for it. What's more, the program that originally installed it did not uninstall it when it was uninstalled. For me with programs like this, I'll stick to imaging to be sure. DJX and myself to a lesser extent do system level things all the time, and not to sound arrogant or anything, but we've been there and done that. I'm inclined to believe him when he says you can't really get rid of code meter without imaging. YOu might be able to in safe mode, but you know how that goes. I didn't notice any particular instabilities on my machine with code meter, but who knows, what with window-eyes acting flaky and all that. At any rate, I have a very stable system now after imaging back to a couple of months ago. Good luck with it all. I've got to learn to try more of these experiments, and not just sit back and let myself be victimized by software. What's the worse that could have happened, if that wasn't successful, Reason might crash after bootup, like I seem to remember happening to Hypersonic 2 if its SynchroSoft isn't present. Wow, this could make a real difference to me, not to have little odd behaveors while Code Meter is running. I'll remove Code Meter from the Win7 64 machine's startup first, maybe it'll return to its original quickness. I still want Reason 6 on a drive by itself, though, just in case.
