TSA staff are taught to be nice. They are not encouraged to be thinkers.
Their basic rule is: "If unsure it don't fly."
Your lucky you didn't get locked up on suspicion of having an i.q.
Don't put your friend at risk either.
Consider shipping your magic photo chemicals through u.p.s. or Fed-ex.
Failing that, go to a near by university chemistry department and make some new
friends.
